Teaching


I have taught in Private and Public Schools and home teaching. The following is a sample of my other teaching activities:

lectured at the University of NSW and University of Western Sydney;

held Collaborative Workshop Series at Yasmar Detention Centre and for The Tasmanian Mental Health Commission,

Presented workshops with Arrameiada a Capella Group,

The Homeschoolers Association of NSW and for the

Orff Schulwerk Association of NSW.

My work has been on the NSW HSC curriculum as part of the highly acclaimed "Four Generations" - a composer / dance collaborative production which enjoyed performance seasons in Sydney, Melbourne and Taipei.

I am the originator/creator of the 'ham-cheese-pizza' method of teaching rock beats and the originator/creator of the macaronic method of teaching rhythms and rudiments ("ham-cheese-pizza method of teaching rock drums, i.e. the 'macaronic method' © 1986, all rights reserved, Patricia G Borrell: APRA no. IPI277413944), as well as the creator and author of the 'Rock My Socks' (RMS Series) for drum kit, snare drum and tympani.
